My dream blunt rotation? Rihanna, Tom from Myspace, and Ina Garten.
In 2022, I co-founded a community-led brand for Black women in the cannabis space (consumers and professionals alike) to not only celebrate their love for the plant, but also educate on its benefits, inspire political involvement and change within the industry, all while destigmatizing cannabis use. This brand was definitely a passion project that I believe produced some of the best work of my career. Not only was it fun, but it really showcased the impact a brand could have on social media when “marketing” isn’t taken so seriously.
Despite strict cannabis regulations and many content and page takedowns (RIP to the WFBW Instagram), we had several brand wins, including growing to 12K followers on the ‘gram (pun intended) within a year, and several viral TikTok videos—one of which included the boldest hook ever, “Would you try a CBD-coated tampon?”, that earned us 15K within 24 hours. Very iconic if you ask me.
